Garmin 010-10774-00 MapSource Inland Lakes DVD You’ll have a great day on the water in store for you, when you use our U.S. Inland Lakes maps. From small, local lakes to large ones, this software contains highly detailed data for lakes of almost every size in the continental United States. With exceptional detail including amazing contour lines on most inland lakes plus high-definition shoreline, river and creek channels, islands, boat ramps, campgrounds, rivers, streams, tide stations and predictions, U.S. Coast Guard aids to navigation, a wrecks and obstructions database, and road data we’ve packed a lot of information onto our all-inclusive DVD or 5 preprogrammed cards. Inland Lakes cartography is available in three different formats, making it easy and convenient to load data to your compatible Garmin: MapSource DVD with coverage of the entire continental U.S., preprogrammed Garmin data cards, and preprogrammed microSD cards.
Customer Review: Garmin MapSource US Inland Lakes DVD
This lake software is great for me. This works on my Nuvi 780. I put an img file from my Topo 2008 on a SanDisk Ultra II 4 GB SDHC, and put the img file from this lake software on the Nuvi internal memory. Can’t have two img files in same location. Also if you put a Garmin gdb file on the internal memory or a SD card, Nuvi won’t see them. Need to use the MapSource program to create the image files (img). I have one topo and one lake image files saved in different folders on my computer; could make several different ones, and then just put whatever you need at the time into your Nuvi. I also bought a waterproof RAM case for my Nuvi for use in the boat next summer. The case has a flexable front, so you can still use the touch screen.
Customer Review: Am I the only one that thinks Inland Lakes is flawed?
I bought this software for my Garmin Etrex Vista HCx GPS mainly for use while kayaking in Minnesota and Wisconsin. After checking the maps of lakes that are among the more fully detailed, however, I find them not up to par for my mapping needs, and I don’t have the option of using another company’s map program with my Garmin GPS since the format is proprietary. I knew ahead of time that only about 8% of Minnesota’s 15,000 lakes were represented, and not all 1200 lakes included in the software were shown in great detail. I wasn’t happy about that, but at least I knew about it up front. The most glaring omissions in Inland Lakes is where the map fails to show connections between some lakes in a chain, such as where Lake Calhoun connects with Lake of the Isles via canal in Minneapolis, rivers that connect to lakes but not on the map, such as where the Sauk River connects to Kraus Lake near Cold Spring MN, and rivers that are missing sections on the map where in reality they are contiguous, like the Sauk River again, between Cold Spring and the Mississippi River. If you are exploring inland lakes and rivers with these maps in your GPS, you would likely also need other maps that fill in the gaps in the electronic map. To me, if Garmin is going to charge as much as they do for a map, the lakes and rivers they include should at least be accurate. If I get in trouble in the wilderness while kayaking, an accurate map is a must. At the very least it is expected. Paper maps have less errors. Because of these issues I am thinking of buying a Delorme PN-40 GPS which comes STANDARD with Topo USA including topographic, lake and street maps, and comes with a $100 credit toward their USGS Quad maps, aerial and satellite maps for about the same cost as my Garmin Vista HCx and one set of flawed optional maps. That way if one map isn’t 100% accurate, I can check another one to fill in the blanks, and I’m quite sure that between Delorme’s standard topographic and lake maps, I’ll be able to find more than 1200 lakes in Minnesota. I’ll have an even better chance of finding those hidden lakes with USGS Quad, aerial and satellite maps at my fingertips. So in summation, I’ve found Garmin’s Inland Lakes maps to be useful, but it’s not as precise as I need it to be. That’s too bad, because I like my Garmin Vista HCx GPS. Yet if I’d known about the flaws I found ahead of time, I never would have bought the maps or the GPS from Garmin. I’m still using the two for now, but I’ll be checking Google Maps or Google Earth first, before I leave on a trip.

I like it. It is easy to use. Once in a while it will tell me to turn the wrong way on a one way street but other than that it’s a good product for the price.
Customer Review: The Nuvi 270 is a great value
I selected this model because it had loaded maps of Europe and was attractively priced. It works perfectly, and in Europe where you cant even read the signs it is a fantastic help. This is a great value!

Customer Review: Works well enough
I’ve used this numerous times to find my way around blocked roads and unfamiliar cities. It was a good GPS for it’s time, but I’d suggest now to find a newer model, computer interface is pretty clunky and slow with this model if you want to upload more detailed maps to it. Recommendation: Nice GPS, past it’s prime, look for something newer if you are buying.
Customer Review: Upgrading your Magellan Platinum GPS
Yes, I agree that the Meridian Platinum is a wonderful GPS. However, I just logged on to the Meridian website and pulled down the latest upgrade to this GPS. The instructions were very clear about using batteries more than half full to complete the upgrade. I inserted new batteries to do the seemingly simple upgrade. The upgrade lasted more than three hours while the instructions said the task would take only a few minutes. During the upgrade, the batteries completely discharged and the unit shut down. The download reported 99% complete for over an hour but would not finish. The unit is now rendered unusable. Megellan has informed me that this unit is not repairable, upgradable or useable at this point. But they are suggesting that I can purchasing a remanufactured GPS to replace my Platinum. These prices are all over the $150 mark and hover closer to $250 for a replacement. I followed the directions to the letter. Their routine to upgrade rendered this GPS unusable now and I have to pay to get a replacement? I have used this GPS for hiking, automobile trips and have a great mount that I purchased for my boat. All this is to be tossed? This company may need to be looked at a little closer when thinking about a GPS purchase. I have another Magellan GPS, the Roadmate 760 that also needs to be updated. Imagine if I lost this unit as well? With no support from Magellan? In the future, I’d have to rethink my decision on selecting a unit from Magellan. I’m not at all happy with the response I received from them. It was their instructions which rendered this perfect GPS, useless. A real shame.

Customer Review: Runner-In-Training Review
The price of this watch was right, but it came with a dead battery in the foot pod. So that cost me an additional $7 plus the annoyance of going out to find the thing. It also is a pain to scroll through the different values while you run, because it doesn’t display everything at once. Looks cool, and does have a lot of features for the money.
Customer Review: A must have if you want to manage your trainning evolution
This garmin is my second tarining monitor and for 54 US$ it is worth every penny of it, you can work out and then monitor your training with the ant software. I wish I coul buy the 300 US$ Garmin pro version with GPS to make it the all around best training companion.

Customer Review: Don’t buy
Magellan Customer service is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They offer a free 30 day map update since all of their products ship with out of date maps. This would be a good thing except it is in the fine print of their products and their customer support email address that their website list is the wrong address. I had to get through to their customer service by posting a bad review on their website. By the time they responded my unit was beyond the 30 day limit and they refused to give me the update. This is a bad business practice. Garmin has a 60 day guarantee which is posted directly on their website in plain view.

Garmin Suction Cup Mount (010-10936-00)

Vehicle Suction Cup Mount. This adjustable suction cup mount allows you to easily access your compatible GPS unit while navigating in your vehicle. Just place your unit onto the mount and you’re ready to go.
Customer Review: GPS STAND
Product is exactly what I needed and it arrived in timely manner, just as expected. We lost the stand and had to hold the GPS - not practical. Could not find it at any retail stores.
Customer Review: Make sure you have the correct nuvi
The suction cup works fine, however, this suction cup mount is only for certain nuvi devices, something that is not made clear in the product description. It works with the 205w, 200w, 205 and 200 series. I have a 350, and the antenna flap cannot be put in the horizontal position with this mount. If you’re having problems with the suction cup, be sure to clean the rubber suction cup, as film from the windshield will accumulate and the unit can fall off the window. Also, if the suction cup is applied near sea level and you drive into the mountains, don’t be surprised if the unit falls off.

Customer Review: GPS Review
I was very impressed with this product. It works well for what we need it for. As far as the UPS shipping goes, is there a way you could just mail it out via the Post Office? With the UPS, I had to wait 3 extra days to meet up the UPS guy to receive the GPS, as I was out when he delievered all 3 times. That would be my only comment/question. Otherwise, thanks!

The puck-like receiver is 2.4 inches in diameter and weighs just ounces, making it an ideal solution in applications where space is at a premium.PRODUCT FEATURES: Highly accurate one-pulse-per-second (PPS) output for precise timing measurements.
Customer Review: Best DIY Reference Clock
I have 4 Garmin 18 LVC 5M units I currently use as reference clocks. If a GPS unit has three locks on satellites it can tell the time to within 1 millionth of a second. The Garmin 18 LVC 5M, the greatest value in reference clocks, with compareable accuracy costing $5,000.00+. These units are supreme precision time pieces when hooked to a linux box through the serial port. A complete howto is on the ntp support mail system in late 2006. Garmin provides complete documentation on their website, in the OEM section. The unit ships from the factory with the Pulse Per Second signal off, and needs to have a clear view of the sky. I get between 0 us and 50 us accuracy, depending on server traffic. This is a bare wire unit, and requires soldering to operate it.
